HTC HD7 (Windows Phone 7)

Posted on May 11, 2011

My thoughts about HTC HD7 (Windows Phone 7)

The size of the screen is very impressive because is larger than most of the phones such as Iphone and its great for videos, internet, pictures and email. I guess the only down side about the phone is that when you try to read something on sun its pretty hard. Iphone has better screen and the sun its not a big problem.

Internet

The internet on the HTC HD7 is awesome! The only down side at the moment is that the browser doesn't support flash but i guess that there must be fix for that. Reading internet pages is so much better than any other phone I had and I have seen. There are few browsers that can be installed on the Windows Phone from app called Marketplace such as Opera. I personally haven't try Opera yet but I could guess that is gonna be better than the Internet Explorer.

The email on this phone kicks ass! The app is very clear "the big screen does make change" and the fast internet connection makes writing and reading emails enjoyable. For some people the email app might not be very important but for people like me that work with loads of email its very handy.

Camera and Photos

The 5 megapixel camera is very important for me because I take a lot of pictures daily and its great to have digital camera in your pocket all the time. When I tested the 720p HD video recording was really bad and laggy :/ it could be because of the light but that shouldn't be a problem for a phone like that. The VGA (640 x 480) its fine.

The 5 megapixel camera does pretty impressive pictures and the Photo Enhancer its great for making cool and simple effects.

Music Player and Videos

The original music player its pretty bad but the sound its good! I am sure that there is some free or paid good music players but that should of been sorted by Windows Phone. Iphone`s player is a lot better. Windows Mobile has the App called Sound Enhancer installed so you can adjust the sound for the music player and the video player.

The video is really good because of the big screen. Watching YouTube videos and Films is a lot more enjoyable on the HTC HD7 than the Iphone. The reason that I am comparing everything with Iphone is that I use to have 2 of them and I was a bit bored after so many years of using I things...

Zune vs Itunes

Zune wins! - fast and simple, this is all we need!

Marketplace

Windows Phone 7 work very had to make the marketplace a lot advanced like the Appstore for Iphone. New quality games are coming out every day...

Conclusion

I could probably talk a lot about each and every feature of the phone and its software. However, Microsoft has delivered a solid mobile phone platform that is strong enough platform that it can be easily compete with anything else on the market. As for better or worse, I would say that all it comes down to preference. Every phone platform has their own strengths and weakness, and its coming down to preference of the user.

The Future Internet: Service Web 3.0

Posted on August 20, 2010

With over a billion users, today's Internet is arguably the most successful human artifact ever created. The Future Internet, an initiative driven by the European Union, has become a prime research focus of STI International and the Service Web 3.0 project. In order to explain, promote, and attract new contributors, we created a video to be viewed by stakeholders, who may be non-experts, in a new generation Internet. The video outlines the basic themes of the European Union's Future Internet initiative. These include: an Internet of Services, where services are ubiquitous; an Internet of Things where in principle every physical object becomes an online addressable resource; a Mobile Internet where 24/7 seamless connectivity over multiple devices is the norm; and the need for semantics in order to meet the challenges presented by the dramatic increase in the scale of content and users.
